Restoring files backed up with BackOnTrack 3
Files backed up using BackOnTrack 3 cannot be restored directly using this version of BackOnTrack. However, if your BackOnTrack 3 projects are saved on discs or an external hard disk or flash storage device, restoring the files is a relatively simple process. For backups saved to your internal hard disk, you will need to download a small application called Roxio Restore. You can download the application now by clicking here.
To restore files from an internal hard disk:
1 If you haven’t already done so, download the Roxio Restore application using the link above.
2 Navigate to the location where RoxioRestore.exe is saved on your computer.
3 Double-click RoxioRestore.exe.
The Restore window appears.
4 Select the files or folders you want to restore.
Tip: To select multiple files, hold down the Control key and click the files to restore.
5 Click Restore.
The Browse for Folder window opens.
6 Select the destination where you want to copy the files.
Click OK.
To restore files from a disc:
1 Insert the disc containing the backup project into a compatible drive.
The AutoPlay window opens.
2 Click Run Roxio BackOnTrack.
The Restore window appears.
3 Select the files or folders you want to restore.
4 Click Restore.
The Browse for Folder window opens.
5 Select the destination where you want to copy the files.
6 Click OK.
To restore files from an external hard disk or flash storage device:
1 If it’s not already connected, connect the hard disk or storage device to your computer.
2 Open your backup project.
3 Open the Roxio Restore folder.
4 Double-click RoxioRestore.exe.
The Restore window appears.
5 Select the files or folders you want to restore.
6 Click Restore.
The Browse for Folder window opens.
7 Select the destination where you want to copy the files.
8 Click OK.
