Note: Depending on factors such as the application you are using, the output destination you select, and whether you have a DV camera, TV, or VCR connected to your computer, some of these options may not display in the dialog box.
Purpose
If a drop-down list is displayed, use it to select the option that matches how you want to use the production. Then choose the video standard you want to use for the output file:
n NTSC: Select this if you want your project recorded to the NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) video standard. This is the standard used for broadcast television in the U.S., with a resolution of 525 horizontal lines at 29.97 frames per second. The NTSC templates are displayed in the Video file quality drop-down list. When you choose a template, a brief description appears.
n PAL: Select this if you want your production recorded to the PAL (Phase Alternate Line) video standard. This is the standard used for broadcast television in much of Europe and Asia, with a resolution of 768 pixels X 576 horizontal lines at 25 frames per second. The PAL templates are displayed in the Video file quality drop-down list. When you choose a template, a brief description appears.
n Both: Select this if you want to display both the NTSC and the PAL settings templates in the Video file quality drop-down list. When you choose a template, a brief description appears.
3D Video Format
If you have created a 3D production, choose a 3D Video Format. In most cases, if you will be viewing it on a standard display, choose Anaglyph. If you are not sure of the correct format, consult the documentation provided with your 3D-compatible display or video card.
