Settings - Overlay - Main tab (Chroma Key)
Use this method to make areas of your overlay transparent. You can choose one or more colors in your photo, video, or overlay, and remove them to create a transparent area.
For example, to create a picture-in-picture effect from a video clip of a head-shot of a person with a blue background, you can use the Chroma key method. Use the eyedropper to select and remove the blue background so that only the person’s head remains. You can then use the zoom and positioning controls to place the subject at the bottom edge in the foreground. To get the best result, when you are shooting the video of the head-shot, it is best to have the subject approximately 6 feet (2 meters) from an evenly lit blue background. You could then use PhotoSuite to create a picture frame, then fill in the inside of the frame with a solid color (that is not used in the frame), and then use the Chroma Key method to remove the interior of the frame.
n Primary Color: From the drop-down lists, select the colors to use.
Tip: For more color choices, select More colors. Or use the eye dropper: Click the eye dropper tool, and then click a sample of the color you want to use. You can click a color anywhere in the the application window.
n Brightness tolerance: Brightness is the relative lightness or darkness of the color. Use the Brightness tolerance slider, or click Plus (+) or Minus (-), to increase or decrease the range of brightness that the Chroma key affects.
n Spread: Spread specifies how far beyond each selected pixel (that is, each pixel with the selected color) the transparency will be applied. This option allows you to control the appearance of the edges of the transparent area. Use the Spread slider, or click Plus (+) or Minus (-), to increase or decrease the spread.
n Hue tolerance: Use the Hue tolerance slider, or click Plus (+) or Minus (-), to increase or decrease the range of key color that the Chroma key affects.
