Settings - Text - Frame tab
The Frame tab of the text Settings dialog gives you many options for creating a custom frame that surrounds the text. Either a Paragraph number or Background indicator lets you know what object is currently selected.
Shape
You can choose from the following shape options:
n None. Select this option if you want to have no frame around the text.
n Rectangle. Select this option if you want to have a rectangular frame around the text.
n Rounded Rectangle. Select this option if you want to have a rounded rectangular frame around the text.
n Ellipse. Select this if you want to have an elliptical frame around the text.
Fill
You can choose from the following fill options:
n Solid. Select this if you want the frame to be solid. From the drop-down list, select the color to use. Click the text box to set the transparency of the text, from 0 (opaque) to 100 (completely transparent).
Tip: For more color choices, select More colors. Or use the eye dropper: Click the eye dropper tool, and then click a sample of the color you want to use. You can click a color anywhere in the the application window.
n Gradient. Select this option to use a graduated color fill for the frame. You can choose up to four colors for the fill. For example, you can use blue at the top of the frame, and gradually change to red at the bottom of the frame. Click the box to select the colors.
n Image: Select this to use an image in the frame. To locate the image, click Browse.
n Transparency: If you use an image in the frame, specify the degree to which you can see through the image. Enter a number from 0 (opaque) to 100 (completely transparent).
Padding
n Horizontal: Use this slider to adjust the width of the frame, or click Plus (+) or Minus (-).
n Vertical: Use this slider to adjust the height of the frame, or click Plus (+) or Minus (-).
Outline
n Outline: Select this option to create an outline for the frame. From the drop-down list, select the color to use. Click the text box to set the transparency of the text, from 0 (opaque) to 100 (completely transparent).
n Width: Use this slider to increase or decrease the thickness of outline, or click Plus (+) or Minus (-).
