Media Manager options—My Devices
Note: The name of this tab may vary depending on the type of wireless device you are using.
When you transfer files from your PC to your wireless device, the files are transcoded—converted to a format that is compatible with your device. Use this dialog box to set transcoding options for your device.
Selected device
Select your wireless device from the list. The boxes below are filled with the default values for that device type. Change the values as necessary.
Note: To find out what file type and size your wireless device supports, consult the documentation that came with your device.
Photo Files
n Photo file type: From the list, select the type of photo file supported by your device.
n Photo size: From the list, select the photo size, in pixels, supported by your device.
Video Files
n Video file type: From the list, select the type of video file supported by your device.
n Resizing: Select one of the following options to specify how video files transferred to your device will be resized, if the proportions of the video do not match the proportions of the device display area:
n Simple resize: Adjust the proportions of the video, so that it fits the display area. This can result in stretching of the video.
n Maintain aspect ratio: Maintain the current proportions, and display the entire video. If the video does not fill the entire display area, the empty area will be filled with black.
n Crop: Maintain the current proportions, and crop the video until the video proportions match the proportions of the display area.
n Video size/resolution: From the list, select the video size option. The better the video quality, the greater the size of the video file.
Audio Files
n Audio format: From the list, select the type of audio file supported by your device.
n Audio sample rate: From the list, select the desired rate of audio sampling, measured in kilohertz (kHz). (The higher the sampling rate is, the better the quality of the sound, and the larger the file size.)
n Audio bitrate: From the list, select the audio bitrate of the transferred audio file.
n Mono: Select this option to transfer the audio file as a mono file (with only one channel). If two channels are present in the source file, they are merged to create a single channel.
n Stereo: Select this option to transfer the audio file as a stereo file (with both left and right channels).
