Edit Chapters
This dialog box lets you add, change, or remove chapter markers. If you create chapters in a movie, you can skip back and forth through chapters during playback. the application can automatically detect pauses in the movie and add chapter markers for you, or you can add chapters manually.
You can generate chapter menus that appear as submenus when you play the production. You can select a chapter to play, just as you select a movie when you play a menu.
Note: This feature is not available in the VCD edition of the application.
To add chapters automatically:
1 Choose one of the following method for chapter detection:
n Using scene detection: the application detects a new chapter whenever there is a sudden change in color and brightness.
n At start of every panel: the application inserts a chapter marker at each new panel.
n Every: Specify an interval, in minutes, and seconds. the application inserts a chapter marker every time this interval elapses.
2 Click Go.
3 If you are in Menu Edit view, and you want to create a submenu containing a button for each chapter, select the Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button check box.
4 If you are in Movie Edit view, and you want to update the chapter menu, select the Update chapter menu(s) check box.
To add chapters manually:
1 Use the playback controls to advance to the location at which you want to insert a chapter marker.
2 Click Add chapter here.
3 Repeat step 1 to step 2 for each chapter you want to add.
4 If you are in Menu Edit view, and you want to create a submenu containing a button for each chapter, select the Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button check box.
5 If you are in Movie Edit view, and you want to update the chapter menu, select the Update chapter menu(s) check box.
To delete a chapter marker:
n Select the chapter and press Remove.
Repeat this step for each chapter marker you want to delete.
