Adding shadows to objects
Follow this procedure to add shadow effects to an object in a project. Adding a shadow to clip art in a project, for example, can help make the clip art look more natural in a photo.
To add shadows:
1 Select the object to which you want to add a shadow.
Note: You can only add the shadow to an object in a PhotoSuite project file (.dmsp). You cannot add a shadow to a photo in the Canvas unless you convert the file into the PhotoSuite project format. See Supported file formats for information on supported file formats.
2 On the Enhance your photos tab, click Shadow.
3 Select a shadow direction.
4 Use the sliders to adjust the following settings:
n Offset: Increase or decrease the shadow’s distance from the object.
n Transparency: Increase or decrease the amount of light that passes through the object (the lightness or darkness of the shadow)
n Edge Fading: Increase or decrease the blurring of the edges of the shadow, or how much the shadow blends in to the background.
5 To change the shadow color, in the Color drop-down list, select a color.
Tip: For more color choices, select More colors. Or use the eye dropper: Click the eye dropper tool, and then click a sample of the color you want to use. You can click a color anywhere in the PhotoSuite window—for example, you can select a color from a photo in the Canvas.
Tip: To remove the shadow, click Reset.
