Adding mats
Follow this procedure to add a mat to a photo. You can add one or more mats, and then add a frame for a finished look.
To add a mat to a photo:
1 In the Enhance pane, click Mat.
The Mat dialog box appears.
2 Select a mat category (Colors or Textures) from the drop-down list or double-click the thumbnail for the mat category.
3 To use a solid color mat, choose the color in one of the following ways:
n Double-click one of the color thumbnails.
n Double-click one of the suggested colors.
n In the Choose a color drop-down list, select a color.
Tip: For more color choices, select More colors. Or use the eye dropper: Click the eye dropper tool, and then click a sample of the color you want to use. You can click a color anywhere in the PhotoSuite window—for example, you can select a color from a photo in the Canvas.
4 To use a textured mat, follow these steps:
a Double-click the thumbnail of the texture you want to use.
b To change the color of the texture, either double-click one of the selected colors, or select a color in the Choose a color drop-down list.
c Select the Tiled check box if you want the pattern to be repeated multiple times. If you clear this check box, the pattern appears only once, and is stretched to cover the entire mat.
5 To choose a photo to use as a mat, click Use my own photo, browse to the file you want to use, select it, and click Open.
6 Specify the size of the matted photo.
7 Drag the slider to adjust the width of the mat.
8 Choose whether to set the following options:
n Show Bevel: A shadow around the photo provides a three-dimensional effect, simulating the edge of the mat.
n Show V-groove: A narrow line appears on the mat, simulating a groove. If you choose this option, use the slider for the V-groove offset to determine the position of the V-groove.
9 If you are using a V-groove, choose whether the groove is white or the same color as the mat. If you want a white groove, clear Keep core same as mat. If you want the groove color to match the mat, select Keep core same as mat.
