About disc images and emulated drives
A disc image is a file that contains the entire structure of a disc including format (audio CD, DVD, data CD, etc.) and content (files, tracks, etc.). You can convert Audio CD, DVD-Video, or CD-ROM discs into disc image files quickly and easily using the Copy Disc to Image project in Roxio Home. Click the Data - Copy project tab, and select Copy Disc to Image.
When you load a disc image file to an emulated drive, the emulated drive reads the disc image file as a physical disc drive would read from a disc. For example, you may want to play a DVD movie on your laptop computer directly from a disc image file stored on the hard drive instead of using the DVD drive.
