Converting Video Files
This section describes the basic process of converting video files to another video format with Toast.
To convert video files
1 In Toast, choose Convert tab to open Easy File Converter.
2 In the Media Browser, select your source disc and drag the files that you want to convert to the Content Area.
If you want to rename any of the files before converting, in the Content Area, double-click the file name to select it, and type a new file name.
3 In the Output Settings area, ensure Convert to is set to Video.
4 Click Device or Format and choose the device or format you want from the corresponding drop-down menu.
5 In the Quality drop-down menu, choose a quality setting.
If you want to adjust other default settings, click Advanced and choose the settings you want. For more information, see Changing Advanced Convert Options.
6 In the When Complete drop-down menu, choose an option.
7 Click the red Convert button.
8 In the Save To box, choose a location.
If you want to save a preview clip, click Preview Options, mark the Save Preview check box, and select the Duration and Start at settings you want. You can then choose a Save to location.
9 Do one of the following:
If you want to schedule the conversion to run at a later time (conversion can use significant computer resources), click Schedule and choose Type and When settings. Click OK to activate the scheduler.
To run the conversion immediately, click the Convert button.
Converted files have a new file extension (new file type), but otherwise retain the file’s original name.
