An overlay is an animated object or a still image, such as a frame, that plays on top of a photo, video clip, or color panel. You can use one of the predefined overlays, or you can use your own photo or video clip as an overlay.

For example, you can use an overlay to add new content, remove unwanted content, or create a new composite item from two items.
